Get Out Spokane

About SpokaneMatt

I have lived in Spokane since I was 5 years old. I attended eight schools in 12 years in various Spokane locations. Growing up, I was anxious to get out of Spokane and move to the big city. After graduating from Washington State University, I returned to Spokane for what I believed would be the short term. I must say I am glad I stuck around because it has opened my eyes to the beauty we are surrounded by as well as the recreational activities that Spokane provides within short distances. Additionally, Spokane does not possess the traffic issues similar to Portland or Seattle and your dollar goes a lot further in Spokane than many other places. My wife MaryBeth and I have raised out two daughters in Spokane and have no regrets. We are constantly getting out and discovering new and fun activities to do around Spokane. We even make an annual bucket list highlighting new places we want to explore. On this website, I hope to share my experiences exploring Spokane in hopes that you can enjoy the Lilac City as much as I do!

My sup pups

These are my Shimas Bubba and Ollie. They like paddleboarding sometimes, but they get a little nervous. The lifejackets are key because these guys aren't very good swimmers.

Recreating with my wife, marybeth

Meet MaryBeth who is often my companion while exploring Spokane. She calls Spokane "Home" after growing up in Portland.

Spokane through the years

I have seen Spokane change immensely over the years. Riverfront Park has evolved immensely as has access to the outdoors including hiking trails, the Centennial Trail, rivers, lakes, and more.
